Week 7: Oct 23 - 27 Objectives Activities Tuesday & Thursday

By the end of this week students will have:

• finished the work not completed in week 6
• read articles related to the use of virtual worlds in architectural and urban planning design
• written a descriptive paragraph
• recorded the text of the descriptive paragraph
• discussed with classmates about Building Information Modeling

1. Catch up with activities from Week6
2. Go to the Metaverse wiki > Activities part 2 and complete the activities for this week.

Detailed instructions for these activities

• After writing the paragraph describing the photo of your choice, post it to the descriptive paragraph forum in Moodle, week 7.

• If you need to review how to write a descriptive paragraph, click here (for specific information, click on the paragraph menu). Remember to check for grammar and spelling.

• Following the recording process explained in Week5, record your descriptive text, and post it to our Podomatic blog.

• For activity 4, while reading (skimming and scannig) the articles on Building Information Modeling (BIM), take notes of the important information you find: What is BIM, characteristics, how it differs from 2-D designs, products available, etc.

• Create a new page in your wiki page on our collaborative space wiki, and copy your notes there. Remember to check for grammar and spelling.

• We will do the discussion for activity 5 in week 8, and the vocabulary and grammar quiz will also be given in week 8.
